Internship Excitement

Hi everyone! So I have a bit of news! I'm excited to share with you that I have been interning at a vintage clothing shop in Boston. It's known as Artifaktori and let me tell you it is a small shop full of wonder. There's so much fashion history packed into this one place!

It's been almost a month and I've been learning a tremendous amount of things. My first day I was in the store getting familiar with the brands and what Artifaktori carries. I also wrote a blog post about several of the events the store is participating in. You can check that out right here!

My second day I was able to go to an Artikaftori studio where they keep many of the vintage clothes and garments from the etsy shop. I was able to help prepare for the Sturbridge Antique Textile and Vintage Fashion Show and Sale that took place July 8th (our next show in Sturbridge is September 2nd)! So the studio was jaw dropping. Everything vintage all in one lovely place. Not to say the store isn't amazing but the studio is that and more!
There was so many vintage treasure I couldn't contain myself. But I obviously got it together and helped Amy and Amanda (RedBird) prepare for the show. I learned how to steam, measure, and price garments. I also have my eye on a bunch of pieces I want for myself...

Anyway I've been back at the store a couple of times now and I'm really loving it. I recently wrote another blog post about tips on Gatsby Style in preparation for the Roaring 1920s Lawn Party out in Ipswich, Ma.

And as my final piece of information to share last Sunday I was in charge of the Artifaktori Booth at the SoWa Vintage Market in South Boston. I had no real supervision so it was an excited moment for myself! I brought my sister along with me and we had a wonderful time.

Sowa is a magical place with gourmet food trucks, fashion trucks, a farmers market, a crafts market, and a vintage market. All my favorite things in one place. It was an amazing experience, despite my sister and I sweating through our dresses we had a lot of fun, met a lot of interesting people, and learned a lot. I would definitely manage the booth again!

That's what I've been up to lately...well besides keeping up with my summer classes, working, and trying to have a social life :)

Hope you have a lovely day and if you're ever in the Boston area look up the Artifaktori store and pay me a visit! I'm there every Tuesday from 12-5...unless told otherwise ;)

Summer Brights

Saturday, July 6, 2013

I love summer! The weather has been disgustingly humid, but I don't mind because it means I don't have wear a jacket at night to keep me warm (sometimes I hate when it cools off at night).
I do care that I have to worry about frizzy hair...but that can be taken care of with some products, no big deal. I have been trying some new products for my hair and I'm hoping to review them soon!
What I love about summer the most is the bright colors I get to wear. Granted I don't mind wearing certain bright colors in the fall and winter, but personally it seems inappropriate.
With the sun shining why not wear neon colors?
Sounds cheesy but hey as long as I'm making my point. I love the palm tree detailing on the shorts and I just had to match the shorts with my cardigan :). Hope you're enjoying the lovely summer we've been having so far.
What are your favorite colors to wear during the summer?

Have a great day!

Red, White & Blue

Happy Fourth of July everyone! Got any exciting plans? I'm in New Hampshire and my family and I will hopefully be heading into town to see some fireworks, and maybe set some off on our own. This morning the fireworks store was pretty busy. ;)
Clearly this outfit was inspired by my American patriotism. I've been waiting all year to wear this shirt and the day has finally come!

Hope you enjoy the holiday!

Tropical Skirt

Wednesday, July 3, 2013

Hi everyone! The Fourth of July is tomorrow! How exciting! I have an outfit planned and I cannot wait to share, but let's focus on this one first. I am wearing my new favorite cropped top. Honestly plain cropped tops like this one have been extremely hard to find lately because they are in demand! So if you happen to see one in your size I suggest you snatch it! I like this one because of the criss-cross detailing on the back. And I paired it with a tropical skirt to add some color and flair. :)

Hope you have a great day!

Nature Neutrals

Monday, July 1, 2013

Hi everyone! I love going out into the woods in New Hampshire. It's very quiet and the surrounding plants are always beautiful. I love how peaceful it makes you feel when you're out there. As if nothing can disturb you at that moment - you know, until you're being eaten alive by mosquitoes. But that's besides the point mosquitoes or not, nature is something that should always be appreciate and this outfit was inspired by the neutrals and green hues nature manifests.

Hope you have a lovely day!
