Hi everyone! My finals are this week and I'm trying to focus...really I am. I figured I haven't done a photography update in a while so here you go! There just a bunch of pictures I had been saving. I'm hoping to get an outfit post up this week too, you know in the midst of my studying...we all need breaks right?
Well I hope you like the photos!

Have an amazing Monday and for all of you who are studying or currently taking finals good luck!

Boston Strong T-Shirts Raising Money for Victims of Marathon Monday Bombing

Last week was an incredible roller coaster for Bostonians.

From the day of the bombings to the shootout in Watertown to the lock down of Watertown, Boston and other major cities and finally, the capture of the suspect, this past week has brought out feelings of love amongst the people of Boston.

Not only do the people of Boston have a closer bond and pride for the state of Massachusetts, but many other parts of America are supportive of the new slogan “Boston Strong”, created by two Emerson students, Nick Reynolds and Chris Dobens.

To purchase the Boston Strong t-shirt and help raise money to support the victims of the bombings, please check out the InkStrong page. The design ends on Sunday, April 28.

“Boston Strong” t-shirts have become very popular within the past week and have helped raised an incredible amount of. Most of the shirts have the Boston Marathon colors (blue and yellow).

According to this article, the proceeds for each shirt “are going to the One Fund Boston, the charity set up by Governor Deval Patrick and Mayor Thomas M. Menino to support the people most affected by the explosions on April 15, which killed three and injured 264.”

Brandy Hearts Melville Opens On Newbury Street

Tuesday, April 23, 2013

For those of you who are avid Newbury Street shoppers, you must have seen that the 344 next to the Starbucks officially closed up shop.

I have spent a decent amount of time in 344 drooling over the over priced clothing in the store, but I never did too much buying.

It is sad to see a business close it's doors, especially on Newbury, but it's also exciting to see what's new!

And boy am I excited to share that the Italian based clothing company Brandy Melville has opened on Newbury Street!

Brandy Hearts Melville is an Italian brand, inspired by L.A. lifestyle. The clothes and accessories have become very popular among celebrities like the Kardashian's, Miley Cyrus, Selena Gomez, and more!

I found Brandy Melville through Instagram last year and have since been obsessed.
The store carries tons of clothing and accessories all ranging within a reasonable budget.

Last Saturday I went to the store on Newbury Street for the first time and and fell in love all over gain.

When you walk in you just feel a good vibe. The atmosphere was warm, the music was awesome, and everyone seemed to be happy about the clothes.

I was gawking at everything, I didn't know where to begin.

My favorite items in the store are the t-shirts, but they have dresses, leggings, shorts, beanies, backpacks and more. Their clothes are so soft...and according to the website every item is made in Italy.

The only thing that's a little unusual about the clothes is almost everything is labeled one size fits all. I'm not exactly sure how that works, but at least they have fittings rooms to make sure it fits, right?

The coolest part was when you walked in there were these customized signs that said Celtics, Back Bay, and other signs relating to Boston.

And to top it off you can even purchase the signs. They had a wall just so you can pick whichever one you want. I'm not a 100% sure, but I think the store can customize signs for you...but I can get back to you on that.

I have to say the store definitely gave me a great impression.

Circle Skirt + Tights

Wednesday, April 17, 2013

I was finally able to wear my circle skirt for this outfit not too long ago. I paired it with these adorable tights! I love the detailing it has on the knees! The pressure is on at school. I only have a little bit of time left and there's just too many papers and projects to think about! I'm counting down the days until my summer vacation starts and I'm so excited! Just a few more weeks!

I also would like to give my condolences to all the families that were affected by the events during the Boston Marathon on Monday.
Stay Strong Boston.

Hope you have a wonderful Wednesday!

Polka Dotted

Wednesday, April 10, 2013

I adore polka dots probably just as much as I adore floras prints. Both patterns are just timeless to me. This is a very simple dress that reminded me of something from the 1950s. I think the red lipstick added that vintage feel along with my grandmother's bag! This is the oter vintage bag my grandmother passed down to me. Again I adore this one just as much as I adore the one in my last outfit post!
Have you been enjoying the warm weather we've been having?
I know I have :) I hope it keeps up!

Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Feelin' Serene in Green

Friday, April 5, 2013

Hi everyone! Hope your week has been going well! It's finally getting warmer out! I'm so excited to wear dresses, dresses, and more dresses (don't worry I'll mix it up too ;)). Anyway I've had this green dress for quite some time and I was so happy to finally wear it! I love Kelly green dresses! I was even more excited to pair the dress with a bag my grandmother owned back in the 1960s. This is by far one of my favorite vintage pieces I own. I adore retro pieces! She gave me another one that I will be featuring in another post.

Have a marvelous weekend!

Little Money, Big Problems: The Turnabout Shoppe

Thursday, April 4, 2013

Photo: www.theturnaboutshoppe.com

Designer clothing: it’s expensive, luxurious, and sometimes unattainable.

But what if you actually could own a piece of Valenino for your own closet?

According to information on its website, The Turnabout Shoppe is a consignment store expressly focused on selling both new (from stores) and gently worn items (from consignors).

Located in Wellesly, MA, The Turnabout Shoppe was founded in 1991 by Elaine Sugarman and Herb Kutzman and sells “women’s clothing and accessories from the world’s finest designers at incredibly low prices.”

Now I know what you’re thinking, even though it’s discounted it still costs way too much. But think about it… Chanel, Arami, Gucci, all these incredible designers with their prices cut down so low, how could you say no?

Located at the oldest building in Wellesly (built in 1896), I ventured out to see what the Shoppe is all about.

Now I didn’t purchase anything, but my eyes were opened to how incredibly accessible it is to actually buy designer fashion and I mean, real designer fashion.

I don’t think I’ve ever been so close to so many Chanel dresses, I even found a pair of Dior shoes…in my size (5)!

For a true fashionista the Turnabout Shoppe is considered fashion heaven!

If you’re into designer clothing and want to expand your collection definitely visit the Turnabout Shoppe.

And if you’re not sure you should still check it out, at least visit its Facebook page to see updates and the new items that have been added to the store.

Blushing

Blushing
1.) Dress - 2.) Shoes - 3.) Purse - 4.) Necklace

I love putting together potential outfits. Especially one's like the one above. I adore this dress. It's perfect for a spring/summer outing. I'm ready for warm weather! I say it over and over again, yet mother nature neglects to listen to my request.
Boston has been terribly windy lately. We had some good weather for two days and then it's back to the bitter cold.  Anyway I hope I've inspired you to start thinking about the lovely outfits you'll be wearing as it begins to get warmer. We all need that kind of inspiration once in a while to get us through the chilly beginning of spring.

Hope you have a lovely evening!
